Habia celebrates 25th anniversary at Salon International

It will be a very special Salon International for Habia this year as the organisation celebrates its 25th anniversary.

And the government recognised Sector Skills Body and industry authority for the hair and beauty sector is promising an action packed line-up on its stage as it brings together some old faces and new to celebrate 25 years of raising standards.

The Habia’s stage will be a hive of hairdressing inspiration throughout the three days of the exhibition, with the ever popular Habia Hairdressing Skills Team demonstrating their new step by step collections, going through the techniques needed to recreate the styles. Visitors to the stand can purchase the step-by-step booklets to try out the styles in their own salons.

Skills team member MK will also be launching his new DVD, and demonstrating his unique and dynamic styles live on stage.
Joining them will be Habia’s Apprentice Skills Team, and Bjorg Arnadottir of Habia Italy. And the Sunday will see the presentation of Habia’s National Health and Safety Awards, with salons from across the UK vying for the top prize.

On the Habia stand there will be information on all the qualifications available to learners from the Diploma in Hair and Beauty Studies and NVQs/SVQs to Apprenticeships and Foundation Degrees, with updates on recent changes, how they help young people and their benefits to businesses and employees.

There will also be demonstrations and examples of Habia’s qualifications support materials- including the highly praised U2Learn e-learning package –all designed to help educators and their learners get the most from their studies.

And of course, Habia’s sponsors for Salon International – VTCT - will be on hand to speak to visitors about qualifications and training.
As always, Habia will have the widest range of hairdressing books, DVDs and training materials available anywhere in the industry on display at the exhibition.

And to help salons get the best from their business, Habia will have updates on its salon support packs covering vital areas such as health and safety, employment law and selling skills.

You can also find out more on Habia’s Big Conversation, which is designed to give learning providers the opportunity to speak directly to Habia on issues ranging from funding and qualifications to skills needs and reform - at a time when the sector is facing unprecedented challenges and changes.
With everything you need to make your career, your business or your studies a success, the Habia stand (220) is the place to be for industry professionals, business managers and students looking to get ahead.

Salon International takes place at ExCel, London, on 15-17 October 2011. For more information, go to www.habia.org
